Welcome to the August edition of our newsletter!

This month, we want to bring Engineering Excellence and Innovation to the forefront.

I want to introduce you to Rajan Vaz, the brains behind Lightstone Technologies Group, a company that serves as an incubation platform for start-ups. He has created an easy-to-adapt model that drives an increase in entrepreneurship and has been trying to evangelize TL/MBF in joining hands with his venture.

We also have some major announcements which showcase how students are working with leading companies and solving real-world problems.

And of course, the heart of our newsletter is the Tinkerers’ Lab itself, through which all these opportunities and achievements are made possible.

Happy tinkering!

Lightstone Technology Group

Over the past two and a half years, Dr. Rajan Vaz (Chem E, IITB75), has been conducting summer and winter internship sessions, serving as an incubation platform for start-ups. With an established core team of half a dozen seniors, Lightstone Technologies Group, under the auspices of MBF, runs this development program using the latest industry-standard – tools and practices – daily standups, weekly ATMs with presentations. While the areas of interest covered thus far were predominantly focused on AI/ML and AI powered IOT, plans are to expand to several other project areas to include hardware development.

“Having started this Startup Factory initiative rather tentatively, I am now firmly of the opinion that we can build up on it, to provide all stakeholders some measurable results. Primary objective of this program would be to foster entrepreneurship among engineering undergraduates while leveraging parts of the startup ecosystem that is available in our institutes.”
