Welcome to the September edition of our newsletter!
I had the incredible opportunity to attend the International Symposium for Academic Makerspaces (ISAM) 2024, where the air buzzed with excitement and innovation. Over the course of three days each autumn, more than 300 faculty, staff, students, and industry leaders come together to share their knowledge, experiences, and inspirations in the vibrant world of makerspaces. The undeniable value of hands-on, project-based learning emerged as a key takeaway, highlighting how these spaces are becoming the bedrock of student innovation.
At the Tinkerers’ Lab, we have witnessed firsthand how empowering students to engage in hands-on problem-solving can transform their educational journeys. By integrating makerspaces with innovative programs like the Invention Factory and Vishwakarma Awards, we enable students to think critically and innovate in ways that leave a lasting mark on society. These initiatives provide students with invaluable opportunities to tackle real-world challenges, learn through collaboration, and showcase their innovative solutions to industry leaders. Together, these platforms are shaping the future of engineering and technology.
Attending ISAM has reignited my passion for the mission of the Maker Bhavan Foundation. Through these initiatives, we have been able to cultivate the next generation of innovators. I am excited to share some remarkable student projects and their incredible work stemming from these initiatives, showcasing the transformative impact of our programs. Let’s dive into the spotlight section to highlight their achievements!
