Welcome to the February edition of our newsletter!
Have you ever found yourself strolling through the hollowed halls of your campus (Alma Mater for many of us), where amidst the camaraderie of friends, you first learned to look beyond the textbooks, to see the challenges that lay just outside the classroom?
Imagine channeling that curiosity into a program that empowers the very essence of engineering – solving real-world problems. This is where Technovation Sandbox 2.0 steps in, an opportunity for student teams to receive seed funding and mentorship to identify pressing local issues, design innovative solutions, and refine them through actual deployment.
The campus itself becomes a living laboratory, a testbed for creativity and practicality, where the theoretical meets the tangible.
The Sandbox isn’t just about tinkering; it’s about experiential learning that transcends the conventional. The selection process is rigorous, seeking effective and innovative solutions, not necessarily patentable but impactful. The evaluation criteria are stringent, focusing on relevance, effectiveness, complexity, quality, durability, and commercial viability. This ensures that the projects undertaken are not just academic exercises but stepping stones to real-world applications and entrepreneurship.
Technovation Sandbox 2.0 is a call to the engineers of tomorrow to rise to the occasion today, to take those strolls down campus halls and turn them into pathways of progress.
I invite you all to take a walk with me at my alma mater to see some of these projects.
