Welcome to the July edition of our newsletter!
Inventing is a skill that everybody can learn. That is the fundamental premise behind the Foundation’s Invention Factory program, which is hosted every year.
The process they go through in these six weeks teaches them how to develop a patentable idea, pitch it to external evaluators, and constructively use criticism to improve the concept. This is followed by building a working prototype and writing a patent. Pitching one’s ideas is an essential part of the program. It instills a level of maturity that can only come from experiencing it firsthand, something that cannot be taught in a traditional classroom setting.
Invention Factory 2024 has just concluded. One of the winners of the program created a
Therapeutic pain relief device to alleviate muscle spasms. Several other exciting innovations emerged in this year’s edition.

Continuing on this path of innovation, we’re excited to announce the Vishwakarma Award, a nationwide challenge encouraging talented student teams to quickly create impactful, deployable prototypes. The theme for 2024 focuses on Water & Sanitation, Green Technology, and Smart Mobility. Applications for the Vishwakarma Award are now open. This
Initiative furthers our mission to inspire and empower the next.

“I am leaving here with this tremendous sense of optimism. This is what real innovation is, otherwise you can have guys like me sit and solve complex algorithms and sometimes wonder who does it benefit other than getting me a good name in research journals”
