Welcome to the June Edition of our Newsletter
This year, Invention Factory evolves into InventX—a bold new chapter, now fully led by Maker Bhavan Foundation. Stepping away from our formal partnership with Cooper Union has allowed us to shape a more localized, agile, and deeply impactful program. We’re grateful to still have Eric Lima, one of the original creators, guiding students—especially in the often-overlooked patenting process.
In fact, patenting has been a major focus this year. As Eric put it: “If you’ve built something novel and useful, you’re already halfway there.”
While past newsletters showcased clever prototypes and polished pitches, this time, we shift the spotlight. Yes, the outcomes matter—but so does the journey: the effort, mentorship, ideation, and the human scaffolding behind it all.
InventX is growing in every sense. To understand its transformation, let’s take a closer look at the people, processes, and highlights shaping this edition. Because real invention isn’t just the final product—it’s the arc that gets us there.

“I’ve been coming to InventX every year, and today, I saw ideas that truly stood out. Some were simple, others more complex but each one addressed a real, tangible need. It’s this kind of thoughtful problem-solving that makes InventX special. Programs like this should be encouraged widely even introduced at the school level to nurture innovation from a young age.”
