Welcome to the March edition of our newsletter!

Engineering education in India is characterised by a few pinnacles of excellence with a broad base of mediocrity. Disproportionate attention and funding are aimed at the elite institutions. To be truly transformative, a paradigm shift is necessary, directed at uplifting the large base of Tier 2 and 3 colleges.

MBF is leveraging the IIT-style project-based learning of LEAP to dramatically increase the impact of the infrastructure of its Tinkerers’ Labs. Our goal is to bridge the educational divide, fostering an environment where practical skills are not just encouraged but expected.

A culture of rote learning has long deprived students of real engineering skills – the kind that spurs innovation. By merging Tinkerers’ Lab and LEAP, we are setting the stage for a paradigm shift. It’s not just about providing resources; it’s about nurturing a mindset.

We aim to work towards a change where students even from rural engineering colleges are capable of innovative design.

Because excellence shouldn’t be a privilege of the few but a standard for the many.

I welcome you to the March newsletter that covers the impact of LEAP so far.
